The Dynamic Dog Practitioner course has been THE best course I have ever done. The content is fascinating and delivered in a way that ensures you truly understand what you are looking at as well as how to present the information to clients and veterinary professionals. As a subject, this is not for the faint-hearted, but Gemma's knowledge and amazing insight means that being able to identify signs of pain and discomfort in a dog is a very real prospect for every dog professional prepared to set aside what they think they already know. This course means as behaviourists and trainers we can exceed the expectations of dog guardians, and truly help their dogs in a positive and permanent way.

Enrolling in Dynamic Dog was one of the best decisions that I ever made! Gemma is an amazing teacher and opened my eyes to, what I am now ashamed to say, a whole other part of the dog behavior world that I was not seeing. Understanding what is going on internally for a dog is crucial for not just owners but the practitioners dedicated to helping them. I have been able to not only spot movement concerns in dogs but have successfully written reports that have helped vets put my recommendations into action. Owners that were previously told via basic examination by the vet that their dog was not in pain (reactive dogs are already tense and stressed at the vet), was able to bring our concerns and supporting evidence with the dog in his natural environment to their attention and in turn, get x-rays for the dog, which showed deformation of multiple bones. Seeing the dog move more comfortably, run in the yard again, and decrease his reactivity, has been the biggest reward. I can't recommend Gemma and Dynamic Dog enough!

The Dynamic Dog course is unlike anything else out there. It’s completely transformed the way I see and work with dogs. For me, it’s been almost as transformational as first learning about canine body language—I can now see dogs more clearly than ever and understand when they may be communicating discomfort and pain in their bodies and how this may be affecting their behaviour. Dynamic Dog is a game-changer for being able to really help dogs. If I could recommend just one course to every dog trainer and behaviour professional, this would be it.

The Dynamic Dog Practitioner Programme should carry a warning that you will never look at a dog in the same way again – ever! I’d been learning about the links between pain and behaviour and honing my observational skills but was missing the piece of the jigsaw that enabled me to identify and articulate the exact areas of concern and write a report that would provide the information that the caregiver’s vet needed to investigate further. This course delivered that and a whole lot more. The blend of an online curriculum, zoom lectures and bookable 1:1s works really well, plus the assignments encourage you to do your own research and study and I ended up down many fascinating rabbit holes along the way! Your knowledge and confidence build over the first three months, so by the time you get to the case studies you feel fully equipped to make a real difference to those dogs. Gemma is a great teacher, so knowledgeable and supportive and the Facebook group for Dynamic Dog students is a safe and helpful place to share your concerns and successes. I have been thoroughly challenged in my learning and stepped well outside my comfort zone during the course but have loved every minute of it. The Dynamic Dog programme really is at the cutting edge of dog training and behaviour and adds a whole new vital layer of expertise for anyone working with behaviour cases.

Gemma has been an exceptional tutor and mentor in this astonishing Dynamic Dog course. Gemma is talented, dedicated, patient and very supportive to all of her students.

The knowledge and passion that Gemma shares throughout this course, filters through and resonates with I’m sure all of her students.

With the accomplishment and completion of the course , I now feel ready to go out and advocate for my client’s dogs.

I stumbled across Gemma in another group and decided to take part in her 5 day free course. That course was a lot of fun so it came as no surprise to me that I wanted to take part in her 8 week course as well…and that continued on as I took part in her first Dynamic Dog Practitioner four month course.

As a life-long learner her content was eye opening and challenging. As a trainer this knowledge enabled me to immediately help client dogs who were struggling for seemingly ‘no reason’. Gemma is oozing with knowledge that you won’t find in other places and she is a patient instructor taking myself from a nearly ‘blind’ condition to a place where the veil is lifted and I can see the physical areas of concern in dogs. She’s a magician! Whether you take Dynamic Dog Practitioner course to help your own dogs or to become certified your time will not be wasted! I know there will be so many dogs out there who will benefit much to the relief of their owners.

The Dynamic Dog Practitioner Programme should be a requirement for any individual working in the field of dog behavior and training. Attempting to change the behavior of a dog without having a thorough understanding of the internal structure and function of a dog, at the very least omits relevant information related to that behavior, and at worst has the potential for causing increased discomfort or pain to the individual.

Gemma Hodson delivers tremendous knowledge and support in an accessible platform with the learner in mind. Her passion for her student’s success demonstrates her true desire to improve the lives of many more dogs and their human carers across the globe.

My journey through this course, and now as a Student Mentor, has been challenging in the best way possible! The knowledge I have gained has forever changed how I approach each new client and interact with the veterinary community and support teams. I cannot begin to thank Gemma enough for the tremendous support throughout the course and the opportunity to spread the benefits of assessing pain and discomfort to improve the welfare of our cherished dogs.

"I am finishing Module 3 so not yet certified... however, I can already say it: THIS COURSE IS A GAME CHANGER! The way you look at dogs (be they your clients or simple dogs in the street) when you start and when you finish is miles away !
Yes, this course is challenging and demanding but, every step on the way, you learn and you like it more! The knowledge you gain from it is IMMENSE ! Gemma and her team are incredibly kind and supportive, making everything possible on earth for you to succeed. They not only teach you about dog anatomy, structure and movement but they also teach you how to use technology to handle your cases in the future.
The way you handle your behavior cases will never be the same after this course. It is the missing part for these cases where you feel you are missing something... but you don't know what exactly.
Honnestly... GO FOR IT !
A huge THANK YOU Gemma for everything"
